Job Title: SOCIAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR - CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH

Anoka County Community Social Services and Mental Health Department has an immediate opening for the position of Social Supervisor - Children's Mental Health Services.  This position will provide ongoing support, direction, and evaluation to ten social workers engaged in providing case management and family community support services to families who have a child who is diagnosed as severely emotionally disturbed.
 

 EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY):
Provides clinical supervisory support and availability to case managers; provides back-up crises and case work services; develops and maintains compliance with Federal, State, and County rules, guidelines, and statutes (Rule 79); develops procedures for implementing new regulations; performs all administrative functions necessary to supervise CMH unit; participates in the budget process; promotes and maintains good community relations by participating on the CMH Advisory Board and Coordination  Council and other councils such as IEIC.

 REQUIREMENTS:
Masters Degree in Social Work, Nursing, or Behavioral Sciences and is a licensed mental health professional; three to five years clinically supervised experience working in Children's Mental Health; one year supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of:  Case management issues of children who are severely emotionally disturbed; clinical practices; social service rules, regulations and policies; methods, values, purposes and principles of social work; community resources; federal and state human services programs and laws; supervisory and motivational techniques.

Ability to:  Communicate in an effective manner both orally and in written form; provide work direction to others; work with the community and other agencies effectively.
