Experience in Community Development not required. Tje ideal candidate will be articulate, compassionate, driven to succeed, and will have excellent interpersonal communication skills. Position requires significant public contact; therefore, a positive image and demeanor are important. Opportunities for advancement are available. a) NATURE OF WORK Performs a variety of routine and complex technical work in property inspection and code enforcement.
Deputy Fire Marshal - Compliance  Regular, Full-time  $4,078.00 - $5,557.00 monthly  07/11/08
SALARY RANGE: Deputy Fire Marshal I - $4,078 to $5,126 Deputy Fire Marshal II - $4,384 to $5,557 a) NATURE OF WORK Implementing and maintaining community fire and life safety programs and related work as required. Positions will usually be filled at the Deputy Fire Marshal II level but may be under filled as Deputy Fire Marshal I. Level I performs entry level technical work with basic knowledge performing fire inspections, fire cause investigations, public education, and fire code enforcement work. Employment at Level I is limited to a maximum of 24 months. Level I incumbents must be able to demonstrate to the Fire Marshal the knowledge, skills, abilities and the required certifications in order to advance to Level II in the classification within the 24 month training period. Level II is journey-level work performing similar duties as listed herein with more advanced knowledge while exercising a higher degree of independent judgment in decision-making and may be assigned site/building plan reviews.
Deputy Fire Marshal III  Regular, Full-time  $4,888.00 - $6,196.00 monthly  07/11/08
a) NATURE OF WORK Implementing and maintaining community fire and life safety programs and related work as required. Level III is senior-level work performing all duties of a Deputy Fire Marshal Level II – Compliance with the addition of assigned program development, administrative, and lead duties; review of site/building land action and construction plans for code compliance; exercising a very high degree of independent judgment in decision-making; and, fire ground operations management responsibilities.
Firefighter/EMT - Paramedic (Day Shift)  Regular, Full-time  $3,716.00 - $4,697.00 monthly  08/01/08

NOTE: Special consideration may be given to Lateral applicants. Paramedic Premium Pay: Candidates hired are eligible for a $376.00 monthly paramedic premium upon receipt of standing orders by department physician advisor.

a) NATURE OF WORK Respond to and mitigate fire, medical, and other emergencies and perform other related Fire Department activities in the community.

This position is 19 hours per week. The work schedule is primarily Thursdays & Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. a) NATURE OF WORK The Maple Lawn Preschool Lead Teacher provides classroom instruction, and assists the supervisor with curriculum development; provides classroom leadership; and ensures activities enhance the self-esteem of individual children; works with children to develop preschool readiness skills and physical coordination; and does related work as required.

a) NATURE OF WORK Dispatches all 911 calls for police service and serves as the primary information resource for persons contacting the Albany Police Department for emergency and non-emergency services.
