The purpose of this classification is to coordinate all events held in the Civic Center, Municipal Auditorium, and Veterans Park Amphitheater.

 Duties:
Supervises, manages, and evaluates assigned staff; processes employees concerns and problems, directs work, counsels, carries out disciplinary/corrective action and completes employee performance appraisals. Coordinates arrangements of all events held in the Civic Center, Municipal Auditorium and Veterans Park Amphitheater. Communicates with supervisor, patrons, employees, City departments, vendor/service providers, media, promoters and other individuals as needed to review status of work activities, exchange information, respond to routine requests and resolve problems. Meets with lessees to plan events, make recommendations, conduct tours of the facilities, work out technical details and layout for scheduled events and review arrangements; makes adjustments to contracts as required. Contacts technical and production staff to identify production and logistical requirements for events to ensure compliance with contracts; prepares and disseminates event diagrams, written details, requirements, instructions, signage, etc. during pre-event meetings with staff regarding event arrangements; coordinates set-up with staff and reviews final arrangements. Works closely on show dates with facility lessees, promoters, caterers, technical staff and production crews; oversees performance, set-up, and the handling of events. Maintains the inventory of event equipment and checks-out the equipment to event staff and lessees as needed. Coordinates the hiring and training of part-time staff; secures the appropriate staffing for ticket takers, ushers, door guards, (PT) event coordinators and others; schedules work to coincide with event requirements. Serves as liaison with City departments regarding proper staffing for security and parking; Works with the appropriate authority regarding safety, handicap accessibility, and fire regulations during events. Opens facilities and supervises preparations on event day; inspects facilities and event layout for compliance with approved contracts and policies; serves as point of contact during events. Responds to patrons and others regarding complaints, incidents and accidents during events; takes appropriate action to correct or resolve problems. Prepares, distributes and presents event schematics, check lists, event recaps, inventory and other pertinent reports and documents; may attend event settlement meetings. Directs patrons to appropriate staff for such services as promotion, event advertising, press releases, media coverage/complimentary ticket sales for media personnel and mailings. Directs customers to appropriate authority for catering services. Builds, organizes and maintains database and filing system for a variety of computerized data and record-keeping. May provide booking and scheduling information; may assist with booking events and lease agreements; may calculate and present charges for facility rental and services; may prepare event income statements and event summary reports. Operates a PC, motor vehicle and two-way radio in the performance of duties; works various shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Performs other related duties as required.

 Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or closely related field required. A minimum of three (3) years previous experience or training involving arena/theater productions or event planning preferred. Supervisory experience a plus. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job is acceptable. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
