Bachelor's degree with major course work in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemistry, natural science, or a related field and one year of related environmental experience; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. This is a part-time position 30 hrs per week with benefits. This position requires knowledge of ecological forestry practices, land management techniques and North Central Florida ecology, flora and fauna. Skills should include conducting timber cruises, planning and implementing timber harvests, preparing sites for logging, supervising logging activities, managing timber resources, evaluating and restoring natural resources, prescribed burning, exotic plant control, and performing site security and maintenance activities. Candidates should be able to present outreach programs, oversee contractors and volunteers, use small equipment, farm tractors, heavy equipment, and do extensive amounts of field work. Knowledge of computers, word processing, spreadsheets, Arc GIS and GPS is desirable.

Bachelor's degree with major course work in geographic information systems, computer graphics, computer mapping, or computer assisted drafting and one year of experience in a related field; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. Applicants within six months of meeting the minimum education/experience requirement may be considered for trainee status. Skills for this position should include GIS mapping, GIS and database editing, using Geodatabases, organizing and maintaining a library of source files and data, digitizing and manipulating spatial data. Strong knowledge of ESRI-based GIS systems, Windows-based PC operating systems, and the Microsoft Suite programs is desirable.
 
This position is shared between Environmental Protection Department and Public Safety Department and will assist both departments.

Successful completion of a criminal history background investigation is required prior to employment. Staff Assistant Court Services, Metamorphosis  Part-Time  $12.65 - $19.61 hourly  12/04/09
Graduation from high school or equivalent, and two years general office/clerical and/or customer service experience; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. College course work will substitute for experience on a year for year basis. This position requires the completion of the Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft PowerPoint standard skills check with a minimum score of 70. These tests can be taken at the Florida Works, located at 4800 SW 13th Street, in Gainesville.  Please call them at (352) 244-5156 to schedule your appointment or call (352) 374-5219 to confirm that your scores are already on file.  Scores must be received by the Alachua County Human Resources office no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday after the position closes.  Successful completion of criminal history background investigation is required prior to employment. Two years of computer programming and technical experience is desirable. 20 hours per week.

Web Services Supervisor Information & Telecommunication Services  Full-Time  $60,133.22 - $99,219.54 annually  11/20/09
Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, digital design, mathematics, business administration or related field and four years of progressively responsible computer software support services experience, including online programming experience, software engineering, application system and program analysis, human interface, and design experience, which must include two years of project management experience; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. Applicants within six months of meeting the minimum education/experience requirement may be considered for trainee status. Share Point knowledge (including best design practices and management), C# experience (programming and managing), experience in maintaining and using Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and experience maintaining multiple applications are desirable. Candidate should have working experience using different programming methodologies.
