Salary grade/DBM is C421.

Assists in identifying, cultivating and soliciting diverse funding prospects from governmental sources to support new and existing programs. This job entails fiduciary responsibility and will require a credit check.

 Essential Duties:
 

·          Conduct research via the Internet and a variety of other traditional and non traditional sources for grant funds available through local, state, and federal governmental agencies and draft grant applications.

·          Collaborate and coordinate with other personnel affected by grant opportunities to obtain required data and needed background information (i.e. program goals and objectives) that outline how funds will be used.

·          Reconciles a variety of financial records and information; maintains appropriate back-up documentation.

·          Prepares, reviews, and submits a variety of reports, reconciliations, work papers, communications, schedules, tables, and/or statements to and from internal departments, financial institutions, and external agencies.

·          Coordinates and participates in special projects related to financial activities.

·          Researches, interprets, updates, and maintains a variety of records, databases, and/or logs.

·          Analyzes and monitors compliance with financial, reporting, and legal requirements.

·          Audits, compiles, calculates, and analyzes a variety of financial data.

·          Prepares a variety of reports related to activities in assigned area of responsibility.

·        Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

 Education/Experience, Licenses, Knowledge and Skills, Physical Requirements:
 

·          Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.

·          Four years of professional level accounting/finance or budgeting experience including three years experience writing grants from federal, state, and or local government agencies.

·          Preferred experience in administering and/or monitoring federal, state or local grants.


Knowledge and Skills:
 
Knowledge of:

·          Applicable laws, rules, and regulations;

·          Governmental accounting procedures, practices, and guidelines

Skill in:

·          Operating computers and applicable software;

·          Perform mathematical calculations;

·          Maintaining records;

·          Operating standard office equipment;

·          Diplomatic & flexible able to adapt to new circumstances

·          Handling multiple projects simultaneously;

·          Communication, organizational, interpersonal and as applied to interaction with coworkers, manager, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Ability to:

·          Conceptualize, organize, and write in a manner that is clear and concise

·          Listen to an idea or concept and develop that concept into written form

·       Write narratives and applications for grants representing a myriad of funding sources.

Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require: manual dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
