| Class Summary: Responsible for the day to day management of assigned area. Incumbents supervise staff, prepare various reports, and assist in establishing goals and objectives for the department. This position entails fiduciary responsibility and will require a credit check. |

Essential Duties:
|
Essential Duties: · Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions; · Manages the activities of an assigned operational unit to include planning and coordinating programs, procedures, and standards; · Oversees, maintains, and analyzes various records and statistics for forecasting and planning purposes; · Manages and participates in the collection, analysis, and reporting of various data or information; · Responds to requests for information and provides guidance to other departments, consumers, the general public, and/or outside agencies; · Prepares, reviews, and submits a variety of reports, reconciliations, work papers, communications, schedules, and/or statements to and from internal departments, financial institutions, and/or external agencies; · Participates in special projects to include coordinating, developing and monitoring projects, participating in meetings, committees, and/or training sessions; and Participates in the RFP process to include preparing bid documents, making recommendations regarding vendor selection, and monitoring contracts and agreements. |

Education/Experience, Licenses, Knowledge and Skills, Physical Requirements:

Education/Experience and Licensure Requirements: · Bachelor’s Degree in related field · Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a Tax Office, some of which is in a supervisory capacity · Valid driver’s license from state of residency (or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job) Knowledge of: · Managerial principles; Supervisory principles; Budgetary principles; · Long term planning principles; Applicable laws, rules, and regulations; · Customer service principles; · Tax terms and rates; and Basic math and accounting. Skill in: · Forecasting future needs of a department; Policy and procedure writing; · Managing a section or department; Prioritizing and assigning work; · Supervising and evaluating employees; · Troubleshooting problems; Maintaining records and preparing reports; · Providing complex customer service; · Applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations; · Using a computer and applicable software applications; and Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.^* |
